Why Ohio Business College Stands Out Among Trade Schools
You have choices regarding post-secondary education, but OBC stands out among trade schools. We offer practical career training and support so you can learn job functions and apply them directly in the workplace after graduation. Some of the reasons OBC stands out include:
Trade Program Options
We offer healthcare, business, and trade programs to help you start a lifelong career. The nine programs include:
HVAC/R – a program that offers instruction in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Electrician – a 9-month program that teaches the fundamentals of electricity, safety practices, and electrical system installation.
Truck Driver Training GT III – a Class A CDL Truck Driving program that can be completed in as little as four weeks. During the program, you learn technical driving skills and roadway safety.
Practical Nursing – a 44-week program that offers training in classroom theory and hands-on patient care. By the end of the program, you will be ready to take the NCLEX-PN exam to become licensed as an LPN in Ohio.
Medical Assistant – a 12-month program focusing on classroom skills and hands-on training in clinical and administrative roles. By the end of the program, you will be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Registered Medical Assistant exams.
Accounting & Business Management – a two-year associate degree program that prepares you to become a bookkeeper or start a business. The program focuses on payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, and tax training.
Business Administration – degree and diploma options that prepare you for entry-level roles in banking, human resources, retail, and administration. The program focuses on building communication, management, accounting, law, and technology skills.
AAB in Office Administration – A two-year associate degree program that prepares you for an office administration role. During this program, you learn about software, word processing, and administrative duties to start working in an entry-level office-related administrative role.

Free Tutoring & Personalized Attention from Instructors
Our small class sizes allow you to enjoy personalized attention from instructors. Our instructors are available to mentor you through our healthcare, business, and trade programs. This allows them to offer direct feedback so you can lay a solid educational foundation and build upon it throughout your career. In addition to classroom lectures and instructor office hours, we offer free tutoring to support your learning and give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed.
Hands-on Training
In addition to free tutoring, we offer you hands-on training to build your confidence and practice your trade. Each program includes lab hours that allow you to put theory into practice with strict supervision by instructors. You will also use industry-standard equipment to complete real-world tasks. The same equipment you use during your new job in healthcare, business, or the trades.
Flexible Class Schedules
OBC offers day and evening classes for students with other responsibilities in addition to educational endeavors. Don’t let life stop you from advancing in your career. Our evening courses allow you to handle personal responsibilities while completing your education.
Career-Specific Coursework
You won’t take general electives like 13th Century Art Appreciation in our programs. We help you complete a curriculum tailored to your role and technical program. We focus only on what you need to succeed in your role and nothing else. Instructors have been in your shoes and know what you need to succeed.
Accessible College Campus Locations
OBC offers two campuses in Ohio. Our locations include Lorain County and Dayton. Each campus provides a unique set of programs. Contact us today to take a tour of our college campuses.
Job Placement Assistance
At the end of your program, we will help you find a job you are passionate about. We will help you build a strong resume, prepare for interviews, and match you with jobs that fit your skill set. We have close ties with employers in Ohio, and they know that graduates of OBC are highly trained and ready to start working on day one.
